An impressive 85% of 2014 South Portland (Maine) High School graduates are continuing their education. This ia a very costly endeavor as we read that the nation's student loan debt is higher than our cumalative credit card debt.  A 2013 study by the Project of Student Debt found Maine four year college graduates carry the 7th highest student loan debt in the country averaging $29,456 per student.  Maine students also receive less than half the national average in state grants for college.

The South Portland High School Dollars for Scholars (SPHS DFS) chapter wants to assist our graduates with the cost of their post-secondary education and invite you to make a contribution on line by following the 'Donate Now' link at the top of this page or by mailing a check to: SPHS DFS, 637 Highland Ave.
